BREAKING NEWS - ALMAX BIOTECHNOLOGY ATTACKED

This is Trish Donaldson for WKSN News.

Heavy gunfire and multiple explosions rocked the Almax Biotechnology facility early this morning.

Pete Derie, a representative for Almax Biotechnology had this to say, "The attack early this morning was completely unprovoked and right now, we're trying to get to the bottom of this. We sustained heavy property damage and several of our security guards were killed during this attack."

"Lone Star did respond to our emergency alert, but got here far too late to do anything but gawk at the damage. So, we cancelled their contract and removed them from the scene. Knight Errant, will now be providing security for this facility."

Lone Star representative, Jane Hawkins told WKSN News that they think Almax overreacted. "We've provided reliable security for Almax Biotechnology, for well over a decade now and we've been extremely discrete. It's interesting, that we were removed from the scene before we could get a closer look at the burning wreckage or bring in a proper investigation squad."

Two words... Industrial Espionage.
Best way to tie up lose ends is to blow them up.

Christ. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere near that thing. Who knows what kind of horrible elements were being disbursed into the local air. Look out if you live near there.

I'm betting that this is the same people who knocked out A-Tech a while back. Whoever it is, it's probably best for them to lie low for a while. Two high-profile jobs this close together can be bad for your health.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, going to have to give Knight Errant a Pizza Test someday.

"...we've been extremely discrete." This is Corp Speak for "NOT FRAGGING THERE AT ALL!", for those not in the know.

For those of you not in the know...

Decades ago, these guys were experimenting on metahumans.

Nasty stuff too, but I won't get into that here. Don't want to give you kids nightmares...

It turned out that Almax was working with the Humanis Policlub, to create some sort of metahuman specific virus. Wipe them off the face of the earth, sort of stuff.

Then their labs mysteriously blew up one night and Almax dropped off the grid.

Sounds to me, like Lone Star is pissed about loosing their contract and is sitting on some pretty damaging information about Almax...

Wonder what they've been up to all these years... no good, most likely.

Johnny Wiseman... you old dog. I didn't know you were back in the Seattle.

Stop by the Deadlands, and will have a drink. Then we can talk about those credits you owe me.

OK, Pizza still came before KE did, but they're faster than Lone Star.

I'd be willing to bet that Knight Errant might be tied to the Johnson... they've been looking to cost Lone Star face for a while.

And that's only the ones you saw, Money.

My guess is that Almax didn't want Lone Star looking to closely at what they were up to...

Ok, so this is about ten, ten thirty last night. At this little place downtown where I’m known, they got this private table up-stairs, on a cozy little balcony with a nice view of the street, real private like. I like to relax up their, get my head straight, enjoy an after meal drink, that kind of thing. Anyway, I’d been there since, let’s say six, should anyone ask, and I’m getting ready to go, one last drink and it’s off to see some people about this thing over on the other side of town.

But before I go, what do I see?

Right on the street below me Mr. and Mrs. Almax CEO, on their way home from a late dinner. And what happens? Up pulls this cab, and out jump a pair of rough looking customers, real knock-around-guys these two. And bam, right off the bat they drop a pair of plain clothes Star rent-a-goon CorpSec body guards trailing behind Mr. and Mrs. Almax. Then, these two guys really starch up Mr. CEO pretty good, and give a shot or two to the Misses for good measure, snatch anything glittery, including Mrs. Almax’s wedding set, and high-tail it out of there.

Imagine a thing like that happening in the middle of downtown-and with the Star hired to follow them everywhere they go and keep them extra safe like. Thing like that, it might set a man to wondering if he’s making the right sort of life decisions, what’s necessary to keep him and his safe an all. Might have contributed to his later decisions, might not have, you never know.
